Conceptual Pedagogy is a built-in pedagogical theory which considers teaching in the route of learning must involve the three systems of the human mind: emotional, cognitive and expressive or executive, since, to be truly competitive in any of the daily aspects of our emotional, working, professional, and academic life, we must want – know how – to do things.
However, Conceptual Pedagogy gives the most importance to developing skills in the emotional system, establishing as main purposes the forming of intra and interpersonal human skills and channeling talent and creativity in children and youths. Thus, this pedagogy favors feelings to knowledge, and advocates for providing emotional skills to children in the first place, and also allowing them the possibility to use their talents and creativity. This will help them attain a productive future when starting their “working life”. Conceptual pedagogy emerges then as a new formational, rather than educational paradigm, identified with pedagogical work around emotional intelligence.
